Why are we exposed to so little of it? I don't think it's that people don't want us to know the whole truth, but it's like they haven't found the revelation of it either. Why do we go through our days of studying the word without disecting the words, and the content, and the history, and making since of it in our own life. I always knew that the bible could have different meanings in different passages, but i figured it would just come to you. Like, you will see it differently when you need to. But I honestly don't believe it works that way anymore. God will obviously reveal himself to you, but only if your truly seeking him and a deeper knowledge of his word. If your not using the power he has given you to research and dig into his word and really try to figure out what things mean, then why would he just give it to you? A lot of times God will just smack you in the face with something, but you need to be asking on a daily basis for him to reveal himself to you in a deeper level. It's just like this series on grace, I would have never known of that revelation if Pastor Kirk wouldn't have dug down and researched and truly read the word in all of it's rawness. i truly hope to get to that level of knowledge in my walk with Christ.

Well Bevinnn
ReplyDeleteI agree but most folks dont know how to get into a deeper understanding of God and his word. You can read the Bible until your blue in the face but if you dont have a good and clear understanding of God then the word has little impact on you. We are fortunate enough to be in a place where our teachers are dissecting and cross referencing his word so that they can explain it to us in such a simplistic manner. If it were not for our teachers I would never have understood fully about God's grace and just how sweet it really is. It is amazing to me at how everytime we have moved church's how God has taken us further in our relationship with him. It shows he does love us and he is with us no matter how bad we may be at times...Thanks to the blood! Love you!
